Installing Workfellow Agent
Installing Workfellow Agent
Workfellow Agent is designed to integrate deeply with the Windows operating system, requiring a privileged account for installation. To accommodate different user requirements and deployment scenarios, Workfellow offers various installation and deployment methods. This article will cover centralized deployment, web installers, and their different flavors, ensuring you select the best option for your organization.
Centralized Deployment
For organizations that manage their computer fleet using tools such as Intune, Workfellow provides an MSI package. This method allows IT administrators to deploy the Workfellow Agent across multiple devices efficiently and consistently, ensuring all systems have the latest version of the agent.
Web Installers
Web installers are an excellent option for users who want to evaluate Workfellow Agent on their machines before committing to a centralized deployment. This method requires users to have local admin privileges on their computers. Workfellow offers two types of web installers: No Interactions Installer and Limited Interactions Installer. Both installers are designed to simplify the installation process for non-technical users.
No Interactions Installer: This installer performs the entire installation process without requiring any user interaction. It automatically checks for previous versions of Workfellow Agent on the system, removes old installations if necessary, downloads the latest version of the agent, and installs it with the required privileges.
Limited Interactions Installer: The Limited Interactions Installer provides users with some control over the installation process. Like the No Interactions Installer, it checks for previous versions of Workfellow Agent, removes old installations, downloads the latest version, and installs it with the required privileges. However, it may prompt users for input or confirmation at specific points during the installation.
