Auto Update
Auto update
Workfellow Updater is an additional tool that comes with the Workfellow Agent installation. Running on user logon, the tool checks for updates based on configurations downloaded from the Workfellow cloud. This article explains how to manage updates for the Workfellow software, including using default and custom update channels and preventing automatic updates.
Managing Auto Updates
There are three ways to manage updates for Workfellow Agent:
Default Update Channel: By using the default Workfellow update channel, your organization will receive the latest features and improvements as they become available. This option ensures your users always have access to the most up-to-date version of the software.
Custom Update Channel: Organizations can choose to create their own update channel, allowing them to coordinate with Workfellow when specific versions are released onto their computers. To use this option, set the environment variable "WORKFELLOW_UPDATE_CHANNEL". Contact Workfellow to request the setup of a custom update channel for your organization.
Disabling Updates: If you prefer to prevent automatic updates for Workfellow Agent, there are two methods available:
Disable the Scheduled Task: Locate the scheduled task responsible for updating the Workfellow Agent. The task path is "\Workfellow\Software Updater". Disabling this task will prevent automatic updates.
Use the "no-update" Environment Variable: Set the environment variable "WORKFELLOW_UPDATE_CHANNEL" with a value of "no-update". This will disable automatic updates for the Workfellow Agent.
