Example: Create a Custom Analytics Report

Create a Visual in AWS QuickSight

Follow the next steps to create a graphic in AWS QuickSight:

  1. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) at ProcessMaker to get access to AWS QuickSight, and then log on using your credentials. The Console Home page displays.

  2. In the Search field at the top menu, enter QuickSight to search for this service.

  3. Click QuickSight. The QuickSight panel displays.

  4. On the top right, click New analysis. The Your Datasets screen displays the available datasets.

  5. Select a dataset. The dataset information will be displayed, in this case, for People Overview.

  6. On the top right, click Use in analysis. The New Sheet configurations display.

  7. Click Create. The screen for creating a visual displays.

  8. Do the following:

    • From the Fields list section, select fields to display in the chart.

    • From the Visual types section, select the graph type. The type AutoGraph is selected by default.

    After configuring the visual, a graph is autogenerated as follows:

  9. On the top right, click the Share icon. The share options display.

  10. Click Publish dashboard to publish the chart in the Dashboards list. The Publish a dashboard window displays.

  11. In The Publish a dashboard window, follow the next steps:

    1. In the Publish new dashboard as setting, enter the dashboard name.

    2. Click Publish dashboard.

    The new visual displays in the created dashboard.

  12. On the top right of the visual, click Menu options. Visual options display.

  13. Click Embed visual. The right panel of the screen displays the Embed visual window.

  14. From the Embed Code setting, copy just the src value to use when creating an Analytic Report.

Create an Analytic Report

Follow these steps to create an Analytics Report:

  1. View your Analytics Reports. The Analytics page displays.

  2. Click the +Add Analytics Report button. The Add Analytics Report screen displays.

  3. In the Name setting, enter the name of the Analytics Report. This name must be unique from all other Analytics Reports. This is a required setting.

  4. In the Description setting, enter the description of the Analytics Report. This is a required setting.

  5. In the Link setting, enter the src value described in the last step of the Create a graphic in AWS QuickSight procedure.

  6. Click Add.

Configure Permissions to See the Analytic Report

Follow these steps to configure permissions for your Analytics Report:

  1. View your Analytics. The Analytics page displays.

  2. Refer to the following links to configure permissions in your Analytics Report:

  3. In this example, provide permissions to the admin user by clicking the User Permissions tab. Users display. By default all users do not have any access to any Analytics Report.

  4. In the View column, toggle Admin User to allow it to view the Analytics Report.

  5. Click Save.

The Custom Reports panel displays the Analytic Report.

Click View to view the report in a separate window.
